Root Canal Treatment
A root canal treatment is clinically named endodontics or abbreviated to RCT. It is required when the blood or nerve supply of the tooth known as pulp becomes infected via decay or injury. If the pulp becomes infected the infection may spread through the root canal system of the tooth and this could lead to an abscess. If this occurs and a root canal treatment is not carried out, the infection will spread and the tooth may need to be extracted.
