Orthodontics is a specialist branch of dentistry, used ultimately to straighten and/or reduce gaps in your teeth. We offer a comprehensive range of new and traditional orthodontic appliances in order to provide you with the best treatment to suit your personal and oral needs.

Our treatment range includes both fixed and removable appliances. These consist of metal braces, ceramic braces (tooth coloured braces), lingual braces (hidden braces), removable braces and clear braces (invisible braces). They are suitable for patients of all ages from children to adults. By offering this diverse range of treatments and appliances we are able to provide you with a suitable choice. This will allow us to plan your treatment to suit your individual requirements.

We can demonstrate to you how orthodontics will dramatically change the aesthetic appearance of your teeth. We will also explain how it will help to reduce the risk of decay or periodontal disease connected with crooked, overcrowded and misaligned teeth. The long term benefits of orthodontic treatment can also include improved speech and chewing, healthier teeth and the prevention of premature wear.

There are generally two stages in orthodontic treatment. First is the active phase which is the treatment period and the second is the retention phase. Fixed or removable retainers are used to hold the teeth in their new position and ensure long-term results.

Removable Braces

Removable braces are cosmetic braces that are often referred to as clear braces or invisible braces. They are easily removed for eating and cleaning purposes but are generally worn at all other times. Some appliances are completely clear and invisible while some are partially clear.

Fixed Braces

Fixed braces are permanent fixtures and are removed at the end of the treatment period. Brackets are either fixed to the front surfaces of your teeth referred to as braces, or behind the teeth referred to as lingual braces or hidden braces.

Some fixed orthodontic braces or lingual braces concentrate only on the upper and lower six to eight teeth. This provides a faster treatment time with astounding results.

Braces and brackets come in a range of different materials and colours to suit your needs.
